I have entered the third millennium as a primarily self-taught artist. I am grateful to have collaborated with many people around the world in my own quest to develop the highest level of skill possible. In this journey, I have become convinced we think too much about the past and not ennough about the future. We have enourmous problems to solve and we need to employ a worldview that can solve them. We cannot work in isolation. I have explored new techniques and media, such as electroforming and white bronze, and I utilize fractal geometry and my own techniques of sculptureal montage to reflect the increasing diversity in our world. This approach allows me to blend cultures, philosophies, elements, and dimensions. I like to focus on both the micro and the macro in my work, and to always keep an optimistic perspective.
If on my last day on this Earth, i know that I have added an additional link to the chain of knowledge of our society, then I will have achieved my life’s work. I believe in testing the limits of experience, seeking the cutting edge, and pushing the envelope. My responsibility as an artist is to expand the vision of our society and work to ensure the future of the universe. –Omri Amrany
