Gale Sayers and John Hadl Sculpture at University of Kansas

Lawrence, Kansas, 10.8.2020 — The Rotblatt Amrany Studio, located at historic Fort Sheridan, has once again created a sculpture of one-of-a-kind athletes. Artist Lou Cella created the likenesses of Gale Sayers and John Hadl for the University of Kansas. The unveiling took place at Booth Memorial Stadium at halftime on Saturday, October 3.

Lou is the artist who created sculptures of many Chicago sports stars, such as Ernie Banks, Carlton Fisk, Frank Thomas, Ron Santo, and many others. Gale Sayers spent seven seasons with the Chicago Bears. With his recent passing on September 23, the Rotblatt Amrany Studio is especially honored to have been a part of this project.
