Oscar Leon

Oscar Leon grew up in the Chicagoland area with a lifelong deep appreciation of arts. At age eighteen, he studied the art of oil painting at the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Art.

He also studied with Susan Clinard, a figurative sculptor. Leon currently works and studies with Omri Amrany and Julie Rotblatt Amrany at Fine Art Studio of Rotblatt Amrany in Highwood, Illinois. After two years of intensive studies, he became an instructor at the Studio School. While at Fine Art Studio of Rotblatt-Amrany, Leon learned the trades of metal fabrication and mold making, which allowed him to create large-scale armatures and complete molds for Studio projects.

He has completed figurative commissions which include, a girl on a tricycle and a teenage boy part of a group of several pieces currently installed in front Chicago’s Famed Rock and Roll McDonald’s, commissioned by the McDonald’s Corporation for their 50th anniversary. He also completed a figure of Baseball Hall of Fame Player, Nellie Fox, commissioned by the Chicago White Sox and installed at US Cellular Field. Currently, he is working on a sculpture project for Sanford Health.

In addition, Leon continues to assist on numerous large-scale public art projects and instructs sculpture students at the studio.
