Celebrates the Holidays with Lincoln Park Zoo

With the holidays right around the corner, we won’t have to wait long until beauty of the season is revealed.  One of the best ways to take in the holiday sights is to find trees that are decorated in their holiday best.

But why see yet another evergreen illuminated with tiny rainbow-hued lights when there is a much more interesting display in Chicago?  Attending ZooLights at the Lincoln Park Zoo is so much more than evergreens on display.  Instead, they fully engulf deciduous trees in lights throughout their property, giving a distinctly different edge to the holiday display.

Beyond the trees, there are also 3D lighted displays, live ice carving, holiday crafts, and concessions, such as spiced cider and frosty lager – truly something for everyone.  And, of course, Santa will be on hand to hear Christmas wishes whispered in his ear until December 23.

If you want to be involved with the opening events, the zoo staff is flipping the switch at the lighting ceremony on November 29.  Or perhaps you want to go “wild” on New Years Eve by attending their special celebration on December 31, complete with complimentary festive hats, horns and party favors.

Living in Chicagoland offers so much opportunity to do things that aren’t available elsewhere.  Seeing the beauty of the trees at ZooLights is a great example of an amazing, Chicago-only experience. For more information on ZooLights and the other fun events going on at the zoo, click here.
